Honestly I’m starting to think the paint could potentially fail before the casted material. In order to make sone room I just moved my Spidey PF and I noticed quite a big crack in the paint on its leg, and that piece isn’t very old at all and it’s been in a Besta cabinet pretty much since I bought it.

Paints adhere worse to silicone than polystone.

Just watched the review for this one YouTube, ends with
"I don't think this piece is worth the pricetag".

After seeing the up close shots, could not agree more.
The paint is sloppy, the cut off underarm looks horrendous
And they have blue paint modeled in the arm skin but
no sign of that in the head... some weird choices.

It seems to me that they rushed this thing out the door
of the factory, considering how quickly it came out.
Again, perfectly happy with the OG Thanos bust.

Also, 6 people to unpack and set it up?! No thanks.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Paint could crack on expansion/contraction of a piece if you have high variation of temperature.

This is true.

I don't completely agree with that, they make actual
Silicon paints that are meant to adhere to the material.

It's not like they are using the same paints for Polystone
on Silicon, so the adhesion is different. One is not "worse"
than the other just based on them being different from the start.

The expense seems more justified in the silicon. seems to make it more realistic and better value. this shouldn't be more than the lifesize endo.

It still amazes me people just assume silicone won’t last with no experience of it or evidence. Show me one silicone piece ever that has degraded. Even the earliest cm pieces are still going strong and I doubt they even used the higher quality silicone. I can show you polystone pieces that have cracked badly due to temperature changes.
The truth is silicone is far more resistant to temperature changes than polystone as it’s expansion and contraction rate is far less.

what makes you say that? Experience or assumption? and like above show me one silicone piece where the paint has failed. There’s been loads of instances on a polystone piece where the paint has flaked off.
Not to mention the fact there’s not actually that much paint on a silicone piece, it just the details that are added after casting, the base colour is pigment added to the silicone itself.

Yes yes yes. Pigmented silicone has no flaking concerns but just like translucent resin no piece's color scheme can be achieved through pigmentation alone.
My statement is based on the properties of silicone in general that paint does not adhere to it well AND Steve Wang commenting that they use special silicone based paints for durability and adhesion.
