That would be fine, but again, how would they benefit from claiming all 3500 are sold? Why not take preorders of that later, better QC batch?

So you're telling me Sideshow that people watched a movie that motivated them to spend roughly $1400 with tax and shipping on a comic version Thanos? This is a bad azz statue (with QC issues) but I am skeptical about the pre-sold out (waitlist) status.

There are also 8 billion people on the planet. I am sure some of you are skeptical about that too.

A quick fact check looks like you are close but good with rounding error.

There is no benefit to it. They will be ripped apart if they announce another batch. Guys were paying double and triple for the Obi Mythos, but I don’t think it was over $1k. This has gone up 90% over retail since they announced the sellout, and it will go higher. So guys will be out well over $1000 if they buy it in the aftermarket right now and it comes back in stock.

I'm skeptical about the sell out too. That is a lot of statues and it is no chump change. Sure people loved the movie and Thanos but I doubt they love him enough to spend $1200 for him.
I do hope SS is not planning to bring the collector's edition back to preorder and give the excuse that CS was incorrect with the information provided.
It is better for them to do a variant than re-open this.
Or is it.

I think we all have the right to be skeptical being we've seen it before. It really is hard to believe.
