My 1st album ever was Love Gun and I belive I was 5 years old, Ive never quite been the same since.
I started with KISS when I heard them on a K-Tel album...Rock and Roll all Nite was the song from their Dressed to Kill album. Never heard of them before. Went out and bought Alive and I was hooked. Besides KISS; Deep Purple, Boston, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, and most of the Metal bands are my favorites.

Otherwise, I listen to all music except that hardcore/gangster rap

I got some Frank too. But to me, his stuff is too kitschy, avant-garde. And I like Dweezil's "My Guitar Wants to Kill your Mom" more than his pop's version. At the time, Dweez was very masterful on the guitar. But what do you expect from him growing up with a masterful musician?

KISS is great! Their best CD IMO, is Dressed to Kill.

As far as new stuff, I don't have much exposure to it because I usually just listen to C-Span and classical on the radio. I get turned on to new music from (of all places) TV commercials. If there's music I like from a commercial, I will research who it is and buy the CD. For instance, Mitsubishi had a song from the Flaming Lips, I bought the CD and love it! They also have had some cool dance trax too! Pretty freaky, huh?

A mash-up is when a two different songs (usually by two very differnt artists) are combined together to make a very unique sounding new song. If it is done correctly they sound very very good together.

for example, someone mash-up Nirvana's smells like teen spirit and Destiny child's bootylicious.

I haven't heard that one, only the Green Days boulevard of broken dreams and oasis's wonderwall mash up. Its amazing how well those songs compliment each other.

Tahnks for the education. Sounds interesting. I'd like to hear the GreenDay/Oasis one. Both are excellent bands and I am listening the hell out of American Idiot. Great Album

My brother just played this for me a few days ago...It's a very unique sounding song. He had 4 songs, and 2 were regular length and the other 2 were a half hour long each. They way they mix them over each other is amazing...

Cool

I listen to all types.
I enjoy a little something from all kinds of music.
Wife got me into County, but I prefer forms of Rock.
Grew up with 80's rock.
Favorite group is Journey.
May get a Journey album cover (Captured) tattooed this month.

No, thought I like the 99 steps closer mash up, I'm not a big Jayz or rap fan for that matter.

Do you like it?
