Also the lead performances are supposed to be better than the film that contains them, according to reports, and Peter Berg does a pretty average job of directing as well, again, just based on what I've heard from local critics and a few people who have seen it already.
Still, I'm curious enough to go check it out, though I'm not in any huge hurry to do so. It's more one of those "when I get around to it" kinda movies for me. Still, hopefully it'll still be entertaining enough, even if it isn't anything extra special. We'll see...

Doesn't sound too promising.
I'd still like to check it out though.

I thought it was alright. Not a great movie, a little overly simple and short on plot and length, but underserving of terrible reviews it has been getting.
6 out of 10 for me.

Saw it yesterday. I thought it was pretty good. Definitely not deserving of all the criticism. I do agree that the first half is comedic while the second half isn't, it did work well and the story of how he has powers was well done. I think that what everyone's problem with it is that it is not a "formula" movie. Typically when someone goes against the formulaic fray of American movie making it gets critics going crazy. I, for one, will be buying it on DVD when it comes out.

I really enjoyed it, and the movie is in no way deserving of the criticism it's getting on this thread (especially since many folks haven't even seen the movie). This thread is making it out to sound like the movie is getting panned across the board, and it certainly is not. "Hanc0ck" is a ton of fun. Anyone who enjoys the superhero concept will probably enjoy it.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I thought this movie was good. Sure it wasnt a masterpiece, but it was worth seeing. I didnt even think about the fact that it was humorous at the beginning and more serious towards the end until I read this post. I was actually watching the movie (and immersed in it). I think Celestial is right, its not a formula, but I say thank god to that. I'd rather see someone actually try something new instead of the same thing over and over again.
