My musical taste is so far removed from a lot of you guys

Right now I'm loving Brand New Heavies - Brother Sister . . . if you dig on funk and acid jazz, this is one of the greats, and N'Dea Davenport's voice is like liquid honey.

I will check them out! Thanks for the heads up. I listen to everything but country I cant really stomach. Growing up on metal its just something that gets in the blood I will always have an ear for it but it goes in spurts.

Right now im enjoying some Black Keys and prior was some Chili Peppers, Faith No More and Tool.

its cool Nidgit. i like all music Funk and jazz included., funk and jazz believe it or not Nidgit influence a lot of the extreme metal i listen too. not so much the music itself or style but all the different time signatures or time changes. even some of the guitar riffs.
there are some metal bands that actually incorporate jazz and funk into there style. going in and out of metal to jazz to metal to funk. makes for some wicked tunes.

i like smooth jazz too. and if you do too. check out Keiko Matsui if you haven't already. shes incredibly talented. her and her husband. and is my favorite jazz artist.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Dude, Obituary by themself would be a great show. So is that kind of like a Death all stars band/show ( former members, etc. R.I.P. Chuck)?

Listening to
Vendetta - Brain Damage
