GG Busts - "Craze" lines with age?
What do you guys make of this? Almost looks like craze lines that you would see in antique porcelain pieces?? Bust was inspected at time of purchase (shipped directly from GG) and has been in storage in a climate controlled room ever since. I'm hoping this is a fluke thing as I have almost every star wars bust in storage ATM
Anybody else with similar issues?

I dont think polystone will craze like porcelain, it looks down to a bad paint job to me. Maybe they havent used primer and thats what has caused that

I have almost all of the GG SW OT busts on display and dust monthly. I'm not seeing any issues with any of my busts.

Fingers crossed it’s an isolated incident – First one that I’ve come across that has an issue (and most of my GG mini-busts are much older).

I have to agree with you on that. Do any of theses manufacturer's prime any of their statues/busts? If they don't things like this will happen along with discoloring paint flaking etc...

It could be from primer and paint that dont jive too. Not just a lack of primer.

Could be the skin tone paint being to Chalky, so see if its happening on other areas of the piece other then skin.
White paint and skin tone paint are just about close from factories and i seen this in the past where they crack. I guess the chalky pigments in the white paint dry faster over time and crack. So could be a bad mix or a bottom mix of a batch of paint on this specific bust.
Did the foam have those salt packets in there? They help keep moisture out but could dry up a bad mix of chalky paint faster too, but thats a theory i been working on seeing this in the past on some items.

Yeah, the gel packet was still in the box. The white suit paint is all cracked to hell too - worse than the face.
It doesn't flake off if you scratch at it though.
