Artistic license. People might want something different than the standard Joker which Tweeterhead is knocking out of the park with theirs. Also many love nice bases on their statues which is why they buy XM and Prime 1 for example. So from that standpoint yes the base is necessary and Art isn't for everyone. I will say if you like the Joker Tweeterhead, Sideshow and Now XM have 3 great pieces on the way.

ummm... I'm asking if you guys know the story behind the base. like the base on the new joker pf from sideshow, it beautifully tells a story with familiar gadgets that are used by joker in the comics.
