With the Rock, I personally applaud anyone that can make a living in the movie industry with the talent that they have. That takes skill and business acumen. Tons of brilliant actors that don't become successful and liked.

I should stress nothing you say will deter my opinion of him and his movies. I love him and the roles he is in.

He was. And if you watch the behind the scenes, he actually did the dance as he was singing

He and Jason Momoa should perform the haka in every DCEU movie, even if only as cameos.

Totally agree! It's called playing to one's strengths. Many actors seem to have only one or two speeds and generally don't step out of their comfort zones. Bruce Willis is almost always Bruce Willis but I do admire his past willingness to take on lesser, unconventional roles ("Twelve Monkeys", "Pulp Fiction") even when he was in the high demand $20-million-a-flick category. Steve Buscemi, who I think is great, is pretty much the same in many of his roles.
None are Shakespearean candidates, but they fill a niche and usually quite well. Samuel L. Jackson is Samuel L., but he has taken on a few different roles ("187", "The Sunset Limited", "Changing Lanes", etc.)
Besides, I still get a few smiles out of watching The Rock in "Tooth Fairy". Not bad for a WWE guy... could be worse.... could be John Cena.
