Makes me think of the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon that occurs in the human mind. Once people have a bit of knowledge they believe they understand a subject. Only as they learn more about does humility come and then eventually mastery.

I have this happen even in my own business where someone arrogantly likes to tell me how I should do things ignoring all the complications that entails to the entire supply chain.

In regards to fandom, once something no longer makes you happy I find it better to walk away and focus on what you do enjoy. I understand the emotional attachment we develop, but for me it stops being worth it if I'm miserable.

Well... he’s now wrong. Sadly this is today’s world. Hollywood is a prime example.

Does this somehow relate to collectors making assumptions about how TH is run?

Nope. It relates to collectors making assumptions about how all statue companies are run. I grabbed it from a post Nicola Scott tweeted

Which is exactly what Nicola Scott said. Apparently she's had some not so great interaction at cons.

That is actually so true and it definitely does apply not only two I think statue companies but publications, business, banks etc.

And I think it’s a shame that somebody had an issue with Nicola Scott. I personally think she’s one of the best artist in the comic business today and there are so many books I would love to see her do.
