Getting into the Halloween theme...

Polaroid 7/10 weak premise of an evil spirit tied to a camera but pulled off pretty well all things considered...definitely better than anything on SyFy or Chiller

Everything is on point with this film. Acting, narrative, effects, cinematography, music. Cinematic perfection. Nuff said.

Zombieland Double Tap 7/10

Ten years after the original. Very entertaining action comedy.

Another Alfred Hitchcock gem.

Halloween horror marathon movies #26-29!!

had a Rob Zombie marathon this weekend...

House of 1,000 Corpses - its been ages since I saw this one, but its held up well. I thought it had an interesting premise, and Sid Haig was a blast to watch as Captain Spaulding. One of the few movies that makes me feel uneasy, just with how messed up and unrestrained it is in its violence and savagery 8/10

The Devil's Rejects - although this movie picks up where the first one left off, its very different right off the bat. Its a lot more grounded in reality, the supernatural elements from the first movie are gone, and the mansion setting is also gone, but the theme of unrestrained violence is equally as present as the first movie, disturbing but entertaining 7.5/10

3 From Hell - Im surprised this movie was made at all, especially after how the last one ended, and how long the wait was inbetween the movies. Sid Haig unfortunately was not in the movie much at all, but considering the circumstances that was understandable, instead they've managed to find an equally depraved and psychotic third memeber to join their deranged posse in this movie to mixed results. A good effort with some interesting ideas, but ultimately failed to live up to its predecessors 6.5/10

the last movie I watched wasn't by Rob Zombie...

An American Werewolf in London - This is a movie i've been wanting to watch for a long time, I've constantly heard it mentioned as a must watch in the horror movie genre but I never got around to it until now, but im glad I finally did! really fun movie with some awesome special effects that were definitely ahead of its time. Very entertaining and doesnt pull any punches 8.5/10

So, my oldest Daughter (26) was home this weekend w/ her boyfriend. Last night both of them, along with my other 2 kids (19 & 17) along with assorted friends all watched The Thing for the very 1st time. I was tired & crashed early. All of them LOVED it, were blown away, couldn't stop talking about it today. So this movie really does hold up & stand the test of time.
