Mold Making

I decided to video catalog the molding process on this sculpt. This is just the intro more to follow as I get more done. This project will be done over a period of several months. Give some of you an idea of whats involved with molding process.

2 part molding, 1 part block molding, pressure cast and roto cast. I will show all 4 techniques with this tutorial.
About 18 years doing this Andy .I hope it turns out good for the clients sake.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

This is my second sculpt and a steep learning curb.
I sent some shots of it in the early stages to Mark Van Tine, as a fan of his work I was over the moon when I received a response, I would like to thank him for his advise and the sketch he did, he helped me with the anatomy on this sculpture and gave me a blueprint to work from greatly improving the end result.

This is what I received from MVT.

I also had advise from Pablo Viggiano and thank him for his time and encouragement
I wanted to get a couple of castings done for my brother and my friends so I sent the finished sculpture to Jayco as I know and trust him. This is a superb Idea to document the process by filming it, it is above and beyond what I expected and I thank you (John) for that. I have never seen this stage of the process and will be watching with interest to see how it is done especially the roto casting part. Its like Christmas came early this year for me.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I've done some moulding and casting a good few years ago now, but I think my methods were long winded at the time. To see someone with your experience doing the work should be a revelation and I'm really looking forward to it. Should also be an indispensable help for when I cast my T2 Arnie in the coming weeks/months depending on how long it takes me to finish up the sculpture.

Many thanks for taking the time to document it, John.
