To NYCC or To Not

For those that have been to this show, what are your thoughts? Is this a friendly show for sketch hunters or is it too much of a mad house that you go mainly for the experience? Also, do you think artists charge a premium for sketches at this show vs other smaller shows?

I'm on the fence on attending - for now its a no for me, but i'm still entertaining it.

great show - well worth going. If you are on your game you can get a sketch from most of your wants by hitting it hard the first day.

I think certain artists do charge a premium for the show.

Well... you get to meet a lot of the Momos who post here on Statue Forum, and like most Cons... just single out THE artist you want something from, and when you have nailed him down.. go from there. As always, try and contact him before the show.

I'm telling you stuff you already know , but seriously.. NYCC is a good time. I'm always up for any excuse to visit NYC, though... greatest city on Earth, and I've been to quite a few of 'em.

I say go for it! I had a great time at the con when I went back in 2010. I spent 95% of my the two days I went artists alley though as I was more interested in getting art than statues/comics/etc.

What really made the trip memorable though was getting to meet and hang out with a bunch of folks from Statue Forum.

NY is a very fun show. It doesn't help it's my old stomping grounds.

I live in Orlando and attend Megacon here and in some ways it's kinda like that.

It's not that bad compared to SD but you still need to be prepared. If done right you could get your first two major gets with a chance at a third.

Artist Alley is pretty easy moving. The other half of the building can be a pain in the ass but it's not too bad.
