Dare Devil

DareDevil resin statue about 11 inches. Bought him from somebody in Brasil, but I am not sure of country of origin

How would I be able to tell if it is a recast or not?

Edit: It does look awfully simular to Bowen, anybody know for sure? Also, how do recast work? I have heard the term, but I honestly know nothing about it

I'm no expert either but like you said, it does look similar. I think with a recast they make a mold of the original and racast it, losing some detail in the process making it look a little rough around the edges. But like I said I'm no expert...at all.

I agree, but the Bowen DD is looking to his left and down, while this one looks to his right and slightly up. The positioning of the arms is different. This statue has one arm at an angle, while the other arms seems to be held out to the side quite a bit. The Bowen DD's arms are in a much more neutral position by the side of the body.

This is not a recast. It's from a sculptor(Elciclei) from here, Brasil/Rio de Janeiro. He is a great sculptor.
