Tbolt is no SS fanboy. He is a nuisance all around.

XM just has a cleaner finished product, while Sideshow has pieces that have a way more soul(which lacks the due QC) in the sculpts.

Excuse me...again? Just one example: Alien Dog maquette. It may had leaning issue but damn the sculpt and the paint blow out of the water every single Sideshow Alien piece I had after that...I lean the recent ones.
Don't get me wrong they still put quality production piece (Bane).

I'm guessing the increased price coming around the time production work improved is no coincidence. They hired better factories and the pieces got more elaborate.
Well when I'm talking about old statues I'm not talking about 4 years old statues. I'm talking about the Sideshow's golden age (around 2006's)

Thanks for the info, I will be more vigilant next time :-)

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I do undeestand where you boys are coming from, but new pieces are clearly waaaaaaays ahead in terms of complexity, design, and as of late qc. I'd argue that the new Red Sonja that I got last week is quite possibly the best painted production piece that came out of Sideshow factories. And just looking at the recent POs - Joker, Harley, WW, Elektra, etc. They do look more complicated, whereas the above mentioned golden age pieces, as nice as they are, look very simplistic.

yup i remember those days. really fun collecting. either i've gotten older or the market is just saturated and costly that made me lose interest. Went from 60 pieces to now only a few pieces. If there is a piece that really stands out i'll definitely get it, but i'm way more pickier now.
