Worst Card Set Ever!
I remember in the 90's when a friend and I wanted to buy some new card sets and saw a box of SPAWN cards at a Sam's Club. The box was only $25 and so we bought them all excited to open an entire box of cards. We Oooooo'd and Aaaaaa'd over each pack that was opened until we were at the end. After a short pause we looked at each other and said "These suck!". After a round of hearty laughter at how we pretended to like the cards we promptly went out to our LCS and dropped $90 on a box of Marvel Flair '95's to get back in the spirt. I still have those spawn cards and we still laugh about them, but man...they were terrible and the art was sub par!

You think those are bad? Try Valiant Era series 1. In fact, run an experiment. See how many BOXES you have to open before you make a set of base cards! These go right up there with your Spawn set! Especially if your Spawn set was the "widevision" set (shiver). Those are definitely a 1/2 combo that would be tough to beat for worst sets.

fleer flair gets my vote
No riginal art whatsoever. And the art that you did get was made worse by crappy computer enhancement.
You paid more money for the stupid packaging and thickness of the cards(nowadays that's no big deal, but back then it was)
I only bought a pack or two
Marvel Metal and the similar Batman forever set sucked as well

Those are all horrible sets too! I don't think the Spawn or the Valiant set had original art in them either, now that I think about it. So maybe that's part of the formula for a bad set!

a lot of the comic images didn't have original art, yet they were okay-ish
Madman bubblgum set reproduced the back of the comic(I believe) - is that considered "original art? Both sets are among my favourite with some of the best artists in the industry
