I don't think Goodwill charges sales tax but yes you're correct on the other places. You go to a used movies/books/games/etc store, yep. Same situation in that you'd pay sales tax. It is what it is.....I'm not sure why people are surprised. The surprise should've been that we HAVEN'T had to pay sales tax online at many places for this long.

Yes even Goodwill. Have one close to us and I browse there occasionally and they do charge tax.

Wow I didn't think they charged sales tax since they're a non-profit organization.

Non-profit just means they don’t pay taxes on their “profits”.

Ah. Well if Goodwill is charging sales tax, I don't really think there's anything else to be said about ANY other entity charging it lol. You might as well buy things that have been set on fire. And in some instances I imagine you are.

It can add quite a lot to the statues cost. I checked in my state on the P1 Batman Who Laughs and it adds like another $90 to the cost.
yeah really blows on these big ticket items, definitely going to change things

I'm somewhat happy lol. Used to have conversations, or borderline arguments with Americans who would say things like 'come on your tax isn't that expensive in the uk. You're paying 500 dollars for a statue, but draw the line at an extra 40 dollars for vat?'

Feels nice that the shoe is now on the other foot, guys, I'm not going to lie.

I know it's probably only a handful, but to those certain people, Now you will know how we have truly felt for the best part of 10 years

All this will do is make me really evaluate my purchases. Which I've already done. No big deal.
