I read another thread before that mentioned he was around. $1,000. It's not cheap but for cover quality it sounds worth it. Guess it's all a matter of if someone wants to drop that much. He does great work. Wake and chrononauts were/are amazing.

Could also buy original pages for less than that by the same artist. So I guess it's a matter of personal preference.

its been getting insane,,I messaged several artists about 11 x 14 busts no back ground and getting rates from 150.00-350.0

A lot of it is due to eBay. I like how j Scott Campbell does his convention sketches. It's a draw with everyone in lines name but he did 5/6 per each day and only charged 100$. Some terrific pieces get done.

There's just a ton of people I would love pieces from but price dictates everything.

Agree with the posts above me 100%. Which is why, as mentioned in another thread, I don't mind personalization if it will bring down the price.

Anyway, Ryan Stegman just told me he may only do 5 min sketches at C2E2, so I'm now looking at other artist for my big commission. Anyone know about :

That is insane! I have trouble shelling out over $150 for a full figure! As long as folks are buying at those prices they will continue to elevate! Not good for the little guys like me!

Agreed. There are still "deals" to be had, but they are few and far between. I've almost exclusively gone to 9x12 commissions b/c they are just a lot more affordable.
