Cap and Bat clay sketches

Here's a couple pieces I did late last year. I normally have to work very polished, so I wanted to render some pieces that were intentionally rough. After finishing the pieces I found that the texture in itself can be an interesting element to the overall sculpture. I like the life that remains in the figures here, that I think can sometimes be finessed out through too much noodling.

These are painted, not actual bronze. The scale is big, about 1/3.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice work WP. I like the style. Reminds of the Sin City artwork.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
