Amazing Spiderman 269-270 was a no holds barred fight between Firelord and Spiderman where the webslinger won. Classic Spidey tale.

Great example! Loved that story, especially since Pete does everything he can to lead Firelord away from putting folks in danger, and to the heroes he thinks might be able to better stop him. Great stuff.

While he may not spring to mind as a lower-powered hero, Thor has often faced opponents of vastly greater power and somehow won in the end.

A master of martial arts like Daredevil, Iron Fist, Cap, Bats, etc should be able to overcome much stronger foes via the use of leverage and joint locks, even manipulating the fingers in locks is very painful and can subdue an opponent like Rorschach grabbing the little fingers of the thug through the bars of his Prison cell.

One of the most controversial examples is Black Panther putting Silver Surfer in an armbar, although this was laughed at by most fans i thought it was fantastic.

As the great mathematician and physicist Archimedes said about leverage- "Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand, and I can move the Earth."

I think the Surfer was more annoyed by the Panther than in fear. He can't be hurt physically...(OHOTMU)

I love the Black Panther but the Silver Surfer's skin can repel the heat of the sun and asteroids and bullets bounce off of his skin. As fanatastic as it would be to see a an essentially normal human like T'Challa take down or immobilize someone like the SS it shouldn't be possible. Even in a comic book lol.

Batman wins all because he always finds their weakness before attacking

And that is how he won! By his wits!
