Right or wrong, that’s why ERB is playing the trademark card.

They’re betting no one will challenge them in court. So far, they’re right.

This is not surprising. Eroticism is primarily cerebral.

I agree with Nearmint here - in all fairness, Sideshow *should* be allowed to use the name Dejah Thoris as a public domain entity... The observation I was trying to make is that Sideshow should have worked all this out with ERB Inc. before putting the piece into production - either acquiesce to ERB's trademark and pay them a requisite licensing fee to obtain their permission to use the name (as presumably Dynamite does); not use the name Dejah Thoris for the piece at all if they wanted to avoid any conflict with ERB and / or not pay a licensing fee; or tell ERB "We're using the name Dejah Thoris because we believe we have a legal right to and we will defend our right in court", and actually get a judge's approval to use the name before marketing the piece as Dejah Thoris... Apparently none of that happened, and we're left with the mess we have now...

Anyway, As Nearmint said, she will always be Dejah in our hearts and on our shelves, no matter what her new name is. And princess she will remain.

But since this thread was intellectualized, when I look at her, I now think about

Both are thinking, but what are they thinking...
