This may just be an Ontario scam
had a buyer contact me over the past 2 weeks via kijiji using (at the moment) 3 different email accounts.
They were inquiring to a SS statue I was selling and would always start off with the same message. Once responded, they'd tell you they wished to pay via PayPal and ask for your PayPal address. If given, they'd sent out a obviously bogus PayPal notice stating you've received the cash (nothing ever showed in your actual account though). They state to check for the email then ask when they can pick up the item.
They always use a gmail email address and the usual pattern is a female first/last name followed by 4 digits:
ie.
anitageorge1410@gmail.com
melissasmith1410@gmail.com
marianabrandon2509@gmail.com
just to name a few...
Its an amateur scam, but a scam nonetheless so just a heads up to any others who use Kijiji in the Ontario area.
