Badger Renegade Velocity (vs) Iwata Eclipse HP-CS

I've been planing on buying an airbrush for quite awhile now and after some research I 've narrowed the choices down to two. My choices are between the Badger Renegade Velocity, and the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS.Both are gravity feed with dual action.
I'm looking for an airbrush that can spray both wide and fine lines, it doesn't have to be able to spray super fine considering I'm just a beginner. If anyone has any experience with one or both of these please give me your opinion. If neither one of these is a good brush let me know what else is out there, Thanks.

I have the Iwata HP-A and the Badger Velocity
so I can offer a fair comparison.

Both are extremely great brushes and you cannot go
wrong with either.

What I will tell you is that the Velocity (with the new
super fine polished needle technology) has the
ability to more finely atomize paint than any other
airbrush I have ever used. It's a solid sturdy
airbrush that feels very much like an Iwata.
I have the extra fine head assy on mine...but if you
are just beginning, I would recommend the basic
fine tip and head assy as it will allow you more
flexibility as you learn to thin your own paints.

The Iwata HP-C has a larger tip/head assy and
makes for very nice basic airbrush.

Thanks Danno, your opinion is greatly appreciated.I've found some good deals on the Velocity and plan on picking one up this weekend. Now I need to get a good compressor.

Getting a good compressor is....tough....and you
have to weigh the volume of airbrushing vs. cost
of unit.

If you plan to do only a couple hours per day of
airbrushing, most good "silent" compressors will
fit the bill. The Silentaire Scorpion II, the
Badger (Thayer and Chandler) Airstar, and the
Iwata Sprint series are all very nice medium use
units that run fairly quiet.

If noise does not bother you and you can put up
with the loud rumble....any airbrush standard
compressor (Paashe, Badger, etc..) can meet your
need. These do not overheat as much as the
silent running ones.....but they are loud.

A few years back, I had finally upgraded to the
Badger Millionaire and I have not looked back since.
It is the most quiet compressor I have ever seen,
it runs dead silent except for the occasional
pressure release....does not over heat and
incredibly smooth airpressure.

I must say Danno is completely correct about the Million-air.
I started out with a cheaper, noisy compressor but it made my teeth rattle lol. I got the Million-air cheaply from a nail art shop that was closing down and it is such a delight;smooth, silent, utter perfection...

As per airbrush, why not a Sotar 20-20?. I find it can spray large areas as well...and works great when you eventually find out you need to do detailing.

Great info, thinking of getting a better airbrush myself...

But still I believe the difference is not among the tools, it's about the user.

The 20/20 was my first choice but I couldn't find any good deals on any so I started looking at other brushes.

Well.....LOL! Let me be the first to say....
The tools make the man, LMAO!

But seriously....the better the tools we have, the more
we can push and improve. I use three main airbrushes

The Badger 100G (basic base coating airbrush)
The Badger Velocity (for ultra fine feathering of
paint)
The Badger Sotar 20/20 as my detailing brush

Each one serves it's purpose and has something
about it, that I am better able to to achieve
a task or effect.

After getting the badger velocity at last years Wonderfest, i have to say the sotar 2020 is by far a better detailing brush. I do like the velocity for basic fine coats of paint but after a lot of use i find the detailing of it sucks, at least for me. But i still like my badger 100LG for details with a fine tip, seems to work for me since i been using it for a loooong time now.

Man i want to hit WF again next year, they had a load of badger brushes on sale cheap as hell. My velocitys were only $90.
