This trailer kicks all kinds of ass!

I have confidence in director Denis Villeneuve, especially after watching Arrival.

I've been pleasantly surprised by everything we've seen of this so far. This trailer is no exception..

Not sold at all.
I need a major compelling reason to bring back Ford, as that breaks the mystery and NOIR of the first film. My opinion is we are not supposed to learn his fate in any way, that's part of film noir. By the way, he looks wrong for the character, like he just walked off landing his plane on the taxi way. I don't see Deckard, I see Harrison in his street clothes.
Secondly.. where are they going with replicants again?
We covered a LOT of major ground in the first film.
We know they are slaves now, we know it was wrong, we questioned what it means to be human and what is machine and we saw Deckard's humanity saved by Batty with a great act of mercy and humanity by a "machine".
The elegance, grace and sublte depths of the first film was as much intentional as serendipitous.

Only emancipation of these slaves would carry the story forward is all I can imagine. The dialog sounds bad so far.

Not sold at all, disclaimer..... I'm pretty attached to the first film.
I was a young teen in 82, my father died suddenly earlier that year, I was dealing with death and life concepts and I was a nerd kid that thought about things probably too much struggling to find meaning in it all.
It's the "Casablanca" of Sci Fi and revisiting it had damn well better bring something major to the table.
Blade Runner spawned 35+ years of fan discussion, a bomb at the box office by the way. Some still find it quite boring.
Tons of films copy cat it's look since.

I don't want to see Blade Runner "Prometheus-ized" with destruction of mystery with half baked indulgence and punched up action to please modern movie demographics.

They better have new testament level stuff to come back to it in my view.

Anyone else get the feeling that Harrison Ford's role will be barely more than a cameo? His name may be at the top with Ryan Gosling, but every piece of promotional material of him in the film is from the exact same scene with him wearing the same shirt.

What's funny is that some character posters have rendered him in some outside rainy environments in the same shirt, but he's obviously not in that environment.

Let's face it, it can't be as bad as the original over hyped bore fest.
