Holy flashbacks, statman! Thanks for posting this... I haven't checked in on Byrne's forum in a while. For someone like me, seeing Byrne flex his creativity on my favorite group of heroes has been like getting in a time machine and going back to 1980.

The man is a master storyteller in this medium and he hasn't lost a thing. His style has changed a bit through the years but there's no mistaking his work.

That thread also tipped me off to the upcoming IDW Artifact edition that's soon to be released, so I need to thank you for that as well!

Byrne is DA man! He drew the perfect Colossus, in my opinion, and that's just one example.

I can say he marked my childhood, I was reading his X-Men, his Fantastic Four etc...

Love these new pages. From what I understand, it's the story(ies) Byrne and Claremont wanted to do if Jean Grey had not died after issue 137.

sounds like CB Cebulski has contacted Byrne about doing this for real at Marvel. He saw the art and said why not , it will sell. I for one would buy it in a heartbeat

Anyone else still following this? Byrne has drawn out the entire issue and says he has more and more played out in his head.

I really hope Marvel gets this published... it could be the best X-Book I've seen in oh-so-many YEARS.

Definitely. I read last night he is thinking of re-doing some pages because his pencils are getting tighter and better.

I really wish Marvel would publish his stories again.

It appears that John Byrne has decided to post his X-Men: Elsewhen pages on his site, rather than publishing them through Marvel. He has nine issues already penciled with more on the way. Starting today he is posting a page a day in this thread on his website...

It's a shame that something couldn't be worked out with Marvel, so that we could see these stories inked and colored. Still, I'm excited to see what Byrne has cooked up for the Merry Mutants!
