I prefere XM. Head without the mask looks great. I was never a fan of the Wolverine mask either

Seriously though, as long as they look good & straight, fit snug, aren’t overly fragile and are evenly spaced I don’t really care if they’re metal or not. Sure it would’ve been a nice touch (especially at this price point) but you’d only really know when you’re touching them and let’s be honest, how often is that?
