So on the heels of the Death of Lilith Jonathan Dewar has started on his next release. He posted to reveil a few days ago on his Facebook page and I coaxed a bit more info out of him today.
Here is the words straight from Mr Dewar regarding his latest creation in the works as well as three pics of the sculp in the early, early stages. If you like what you see, hit him up on Facebook and like him so get updates direct.
"After sculpting Lilith 1 and 2 i wanted a gap before I start work on the angel that defeats Lilith, so I often go back through my sketch books and look at ideas I've been working on and the voodoo priestess was the one that stood out.
The concept is a beautiful and sensual voodoo priestess is summoning all her powers to destroy whomever is in her presence.
She sits very seductively on a skull throne, the throne itself is very detailed and eye catching but the main appeal for me is what she's holding out towards the viewer that really makes this design as a statue stand out and grabs your attention.
I don't want to give away all the details yet but I'm sculpting pretty much every evening on this and the details on her body are extremely life like in all areas, she will obviously have removable clothing and other parts so this will give the statue many different ways to display her.
Here's some information about some of the materials used in the process.
The main sculpting material is sculpey firm grey, the hair will be sculpted strand by strand with white milliput.
I work from sketches, photos, anatomy books and most importantly life class where there's a fantastic model who will do specific poses in the name of art.
Once I'm happy with the sculpture it's baked in the oven, then sectioned ready for moulding."
Personal thanks to Jonathan Dewar for this early look into what I'm sure is going to be another outstanding statue.
