Feels a lot like Red Hood is coming to the Samurai Line.

He is, just don't know when. Batwoman, Penguin, Scarecrow, Killer Croc, and Mr. Freeze were also mentioned in an interview. I really hope they make Ra's and Talia as well as the Huntress and Katana. I would also welcome a new Catwoman sans vehicle since she wasn't very Samurai.

As others have said, this does feel like either Batwoman or Red Hood in Samurai form.

I just hope that someday in the near future XM announces that they have the 1/4 classic DC license. While this Samurai line looks incredible, I'm only interested in comic accurate statues.

XM originally announced they had the DC 1/4 classic license but then something happened, and they ended up with the 1:6 and 1:4 Samurai DC license instead. I can only guess that SS put pressure on DC not to give XM the license...

DC was already making their own 1/4. They weren't that great.
But it's not like SS doesn't have some real DC 1/4 stinkers. Odd costume choices, weird poses, etc. They haven't even nailed a truly great Batman 1/4 yet.
In a perfect world, DC would have never made the deal for SS to be the exclusive producer of comic based DC 1/4 statues. Instead they would have invested in artists and development to get their own 1/4 statues up to par with what SS, IS, P1, F4F, PCS, etc, can do. DC Direct does well with their smaller scales, I have to assume since a million of the things come out per year lol. Their attention should have been improving their 1/4 offerings.
I'm guessing the deal with SS was made because of SS's recognizability and at the time, existing power to create? Because DC is fricking Warner Bros, the power to distribute was already there. In this perfect world, DC Direct would have a wider selection of characters in 1/4, SS/XM quality sculpting, and they'd be free to have SS as a distributor much like P1, F4F, IS, etc, while having XM also develop whatever products.

I just don't understand how DC let that happen. Sideshow has the 1/4 Marvel license but XM is still able to produce 1/4 classic comic Marvel statues in their region. The same should hold true for the DC license.

From what I remember at the time SS was blindsided when XM got the 1:4 Comic Marvel license... By the time SS found out about it the ink had already dried on the license agreement.
With the DC deal, SS got wind of it before anything was agreed on and basically threw a hissy fit about it to DC... Also remember that Marvel and DC probably run things completely different, I have a feeling that Marvel could careless if SS got upset where DC didn't want to upset them which makes me think that SS is paying a huge licensing fee to DC

I never knew XM almost obtained a 1/4 classic comics license from DC. Too bad that didn't work out. I wouldn't have to collect these gigantic P1 statues lol. And it's not like SSC is really doing classic comic characters. I guess on the bright side we now have the awesome Samurai line.
