Built2shred & mister H, both very good points, I just called them toys because the other person said we should grow up and not complain about taxes, the founders of the country complained about taxes from the british, so... but honestly they are mostly fictional characters not statues of George Washington or Martin Luther King Jr in places for all people to see and celebrate those people, they are just for the individual collector to nerd out on, which I do daily, but I certainly know the artist for the companies are just incredible with what they create, I could never sculpt or paint anything close to what they do, that's why I hope that even with higher prices and now taxes I can still set aside enough money to enjoy this hobby for many more years, maybe just be a little more picky about what I purchase

Ha ha again...
As soon as there are skills, imagination, creation, you can speak about art, no matters the final product. One art will welcome it: Art toy, street art, pop art, classic art, industrial art, etc etc....make your choice.
If you play dinette with your statue, you can call it a toy. That’s the job of a toy: to play with it.

To be clear, they were fighting taxation without representation, which is quite different than just being taxed on goods. Also, they didn’t just “complain,” they overthrew the government and started their own.

Well just to be clear, that is true, but it certainly wasn't the ONLY reason, and do you feel that your tax money is represented by the idiot politicians? I sure dont, they do what ever there heart desires with our money, the government the founders created has been turned into a corrupt special interest cesspool by people who have made a lifetime career out of "SERVING" the country, which is exactly what the founders did not want, a ruling class, which is unfortunately what we basically have now

I think that rant covers a topic far outside the scope of this thread.

Though I'm certain our founding fathers would be very concerned that you have to pay taxes on your statues. Probably top on their list of priorities.

Of course not. That's reserved for the wall bananas of the world.
