We Go On 8/10

Really liked this one. At first I had thought it was going to be a poor man's "Sixth Sense" but instead turned out to be a very fresh take on a ghost story. Liked it a lot.

Starman - lesser known movie directed by John Carpenter (he made this shortly after The Thing) Stars a young Jeff Bridges as an alien that takes the form of a woman's (Karen Allen - Marion from Indiana Jones) dead husband. I typically don't really like romance type movies but this was mingled with sci-fi, and it had some really great thought provoking moments about humanity and our place in the universe, also John Carpenter directing so can't really go wrong. Some really great visuals and music, I quite enjoyed this one - 8/10

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot - oof this was just bad, almost embarrassingly so. I can usually find something to like about any movie but this just seemed like a really bad fan movie and Jason Mewes/Kevin Smith, I'm sad to say, have past their expiration dates. I liked these guys a lot back in the day, Mallrats being my favorite with them, but they are really grasping at straws now - 3/10

I’ve been a big fan of Starman since its original release. There was a TV series that isn’t as fondly remembered.

I just watched this too but gave it a 6/10. The societal message was so heavy-handed, borderline nonsensical imo, it fell short for me. I am amazed this won best movie at the Oscars.

I grew up in India , it actually resonated with me quite strongly. But I get what you are saying though. I don’t know but I kinda like really liked the movie, it is oscar worthy? I don’t know that either , I just like what I like.

I imagine this movie would resonate differently with those who might be more impacted by the dynamics employed. I sometimes feel the same way when I watch films that are super pro-USA as well.

The Platform (Netflix) - 6/10

It was ok. Was interesting to watch the different floors dealing with their circumstances. Movie is like a life metaphor. Would have liked to see what happens a little past the ending though.
