Total no-dick attitude when I legitimately ask though: How? What about this looks appealing at all?
I'd love to be excited about this, so I'm eager to hear any way that I could. Right now it looks like a typical slasher flick with the accompanying lame cast in an awful setting.

How have no real reason to be optimistic. I'm not a fan of the kid angle shown in the first trailer, the city setting, nor the cookie cutter cast. That said, I'm optimistic there will be more good than bad and that these things will not matter as much within the context of the movie. Maybe it will suck but the only thing I know for sure is we can't have another great Predator movie if they don't make Predator movies.

Haha...well, I can't deny that logic. Good perspective for a fan to hold on to.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Very respectable outlook indeed.
Like I said awhile back....please let one predator live and be the hero.

Yeah, I mean, I get it. The movies have to be told from a human perspective.
But Predators are big game hunters. How many times do hunters actually die, instead of the prey? It worked for the first movie, but I think you're right. That formula has to change eventually, in one of these movies. I wouldn't necessarily want him to be a 'hero', like Scar from AVP. Just let the Preds win. lol
Off the top of my head, the only time Preds have survived has been the group (with no prior screentime) that takes off at the end of Predator 2.
Then there's the group at the end of AVP...but it's short-lived, as they all die at the beginning of AVP2.

A better example than Scar was Wolf. By far the coolest of the movies. He was the experienced veteran, clean up guy, trophy Hunter. Never needed help.
In the end I'm going to see this no matter what. Predators sucked, I liked the AVP's, Predator 2 is criminally underrated, and Predator is 1 of my all-time favorites and my 1st rated R movie as a kid. Anything Predator on the big screen, I owe my allegiance.

Loved Predator 1, really liked Predator 2, hated AVP1, loved AVP 2 (Wolf rocked), hated Predators. Time for a good one again!
