The colors on this statue have always been fantastic. Super fun piece.

Gem Mint has a video up of the prototype. Quite a few parts to put together. The statue looks amazing, and a pretty decent size. Looking forward to getting this one.

I ordered Aquaman because I always generally liked the character (primarily from the 60's Filmation cartoons) and felt the XM piece was, aside from being beautifully executed, as close as you could get to a Silver/Bronze age realization of the character without specifically branding it as such.

OTOH, while the Flash here has always drawn my eye in those convention line up displays, and I've always felt it was a fun, eye candy piece, I could just never get past my antipathy for the Rebirth version of the costume. Silver/Bronze is love and especially with his costume which was always elegantly simple.

That Gem Mint video, however, is selling me hard on this now.
Everything I always liked about it (the colors, the composition, the audacious creativity of realizing the swooshes...) comes to the fore hard, and all the niggling things I wasn't crazy about are receding.

Looks like POs should be open till 4/20. I'm going to be mulling this one over right till the window shuts.

I must admit that I'd never seen the rebirth costume before (or noticed it), but I think it's actually an improvement over the original and obviously the new 52 one.

Over time my thoughts have really changed about this Flash, especially after the reveal of SS's, it just drives the point home. This flash's portrait is bland and the running pose lacks dynamism (it looks almost mechanical), also was never a fan of the cheap looking lightning effect.

But as with most XM pieces i think the base is pretty cool, minus the blue swirls.
