These days, that seems to be the case even with pieces that are well received by collectors.

Every customer is a battlefield in itself for companies. I have 2 pre-orders and only 1 from this year. I expect to buy 1 more statue (Vader mythos) this year and a maybe one other. For me that alot in this climate. Now I'm a huge Wonder Women fan. I have the Queen studios piece paid for and own the last WW PF and probably at least 4 WW other pieces in various scales. I'm saying all this to express always down to squeeze a WW statue in the budget. But look at the market. You have the Tweeterhead WW, The P1 WW art germ, P1 WW vs Hydra, LBS has a WW incoming in 1/3rd. Thats real competition besides the fact of WW statues coming we don't even know about yet. XM can't release a lackluster product and charge a premium price. It's far too much competition. While competition isn't giving us lower prices we do have far more choice and companies really need to compete creatively for those dollars.

Absolutely! Competition mandates a very compelling product.

I will say ...the high price also mandates a very compelling product otherwise no one will want to pay the price.

You have to deliver something.

Quality, bold design, or a rare character.

Wonder Woman fans (like me) are spoiled for choice, even limiting it to just 1:4.

The new digital sculpt looks really, really great. However, with that being said, I will reserve judgement until I see it painted. They have a way of taking beautiful digital sculpts and mucking them up in paint (Dark Phoenix's calm portrait, Aphrodite IX).

Whilst the pose is still a bit awkward, I kinda like the spear resting on shield pose, like a throwback to amazonian warriors in battle
