Sure it will. 
Go see the Deadpool price poll and the majority are not buying Deadpool for $700. When Deadpool is more popular and "in" right now, why would people pay $500 more for a character not as popular?

Yes because "the in thing" is why people buy Comic book based statues like Black Cat at $500 a piece.
Thanos is a huge character, people love him, and some people will pay to get him in their collection.

I love Thanos but there's no way I'm paying 1200 for him. I don't see how SS can charge XM prices while keeping really large edition sizes. Doesn't make sense to me.

I too love Thanos, my absolute favourite hence my shrine to the Titan. I'm crazy too, willing to pay quite a bit for a top quality statue but if it is legit 1000+ US I don't know if I can. Even on flex that's like an extra car payment a month.

Because they have more built in Customers with a larger marketing push and make more statues to fit demand and not some cut off point.

Initially reading some of the price guesses I laughed, then I heard the rumor about Bane being 800$. I then remembered how Igo said that this Thanos will be massive with the throne. All of a sudden the idea of this costing 1000$+ isn't looking so funny/far fetched now.

What demand? You can go get an XM Thanos for that price right now and have a much better chance of the statue retaining it's value because far less exist. Right now SS is trying to have their cake and eat it too.
The idea that edition size should play no part in the final cost of a 'limited edition collectable' is crazy.
