Spiderman Back in Black Comiquette ~ Sideshow Collectibles
Spiderman: Back in Black is a storyline with its own mini series also published in the comic book series The Amazing Spider-Man #539-543. The story takes place immediately after Marvel's Civil War event and depicts what happened to Spider-Man during and after the event.
The story is about Spiderman's illicit actions in the aftermath of events of the Civil war. Hence, he dons the black suit, modeled after the original alien symbiote costume as it emphasizes his aggression in his efforts to resolve life changing events. He is often seen throughout without his mask on as well as showing his rage and thirst for vengeance against those who have wronged him and those close to him. There was also a Marvel What if that follows this in an alternate storyline and outcome.
I for one am glad that Sideshow Collectibles decided to make good on this story by presenting us with the Spiderman Back in Black Comiquette. With great power there must also come ... great responsibility... Nuff said!

Since childhood the masked man known as Spiderman has held his iconic presence throughout the years. Very few characters can transcend generations of readers and movie goers and still hold an impact. Though he has changed and progressed in the comics from the books I grew up reading these changes and alternate views have breathed new life for the web-slinging hero for another generation to come. As well it as given those of us who have been around for a while something new to unravel. I was really happy to have this as my definitive Spidey piece

Thanks Bmutha,
Yeah the black costume appeals to me a ton more than his red n blue PJs. This is among my first of statues and remains one of my coveted pieces.
As for the scale that is questionable as well. He is a little larger than my Black Queen comiquette but not by much and is bigger also than Predator Bad Blood but is dwarfed somewhat by my Star Wars PF. I think most of the comiquettes are slightly smaller than 1:4 so I put it in 1:5 as he is defiantly larger than 1:6. All the comiquettes and maquettes seem questionable as far as scale.
As for the pics I have been taking some photography workshops and have learned how to get more of what I want in my pics straight out of the camera with little to no editing in post.
Learning about depth of field and portrait photography has upped my game some. This is the first time I tried using additional lighting. I took two small lamps and placed them on the floor with comic book backers around 1/2 the bulb to reflect the light up and another light overhead to even out the light and get rid of shadows cast by the other two lights.
The pics turned out really nice and it saves me a ton of time editing.

It's funny how he wore the suit full time for only a 4 year stretch back in the 80's, and yet it's still around. It's such a simple design, yet so effective. I am slowly convincing my son that the black suit is best!
