It frustrates me when people buy collectibles they're not happy with because they figure something is better than nothing or because they're willing to put in the time and effort to fix flaws that the manufacturer should have in the first place.

I hear you but in all my years collecting, I rarely came across a piece that was 100% to my exact liking. I agree that no one should just give in and buy a statue with major flaws or overall bad design... but if you're extremely picky, you will have to produce your own or order private commissions to have exactly what you want! My favorite Superman statue is a custom I discovered in SF so I've done that too... like I wrote, being disappointed doesn't mean you can't enjoy a piece. Just like a movie you had high expectations for can slightly disappoint but yet be enjoyable

Of all the statues I've purchased, I think the Witchblade statue from CS Moore was the best painted one and one of the highest qualities I own. But yeah, most statues are factory made, so the quality is seldom 100% fantastic and exactly like the prototypes photographed.

I agree, but I have some favorites. The Sienfeld Superman, the DC Direct Jim Lee Superman from Hush I think and the Crisis Death of Supergirl Statue. But this one has me excited. And yeah, the Alex Ross and New 52 Superman statues are disappointing.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I think Koto will wait until SDCC to unveil more statues including Shazam which they sneaked yesterday on their FB page. SDCC isn't too far away.

Shazam will be part of the New 52 line. So it's gonna be 1/10th.

Here we go. Face looks perfect which is usually the biggest issue with these Superman pieces. Clearer pic of the prototype:
