I’m not afraid to say I wanted a pale red-headed Mermaid. That is Ariel. Could you imagine the rage and upheaval if Tiana, Mulan, or Moana were not cast to match their animated race/culture? So I think we who expected Ariel to be a white girl are justified in our sadness.

I’m going to still see this bc I adore The Little Mermaid. And I know the songs are essential to her character, but so is her look. There is no more iconic mermaid than Ariel.

yeah I can see your point if there were 70 years of black princesses or superheroes and they started making them white. I sure would get the outrage. I would also understand that the world is bigger than my own privelege

Do I need to close this thread? Let me be clear, no more comments about race, replies to what you consider sensitive and not having the ability to move on.
This is not the forum to talk about that. If someone was hurt by a comment, let it go and move on. Any more comments / replies like what we've have means I have to close the thread. Let it go, post wisely and don't spoil it for the rest.

because you guys love a fight, the unfortunate byproduct of living in a country with very little to actually complain about I guess. funny i'm the "racist pos" when you guys are the only ones who constantly bring up both race and personal attacks. for what little it's worth I've got nothing against you, or any of the other folks around here who are always so bent out of shape, but I also realize we live in a post-discourse world where differing opinions instantly means you have to hate the other person.
