Man I've been wanting a Kenshin statue for years (preferably from the OVA) but I'm not really feeling this one sadly.
Sucks because it's the only option

I received a notification today stating that it's finally going into production now, 16 months after PO. Hopefully production doesn't take another 16 months.
I don't know how many products they had in production prior to this one but something doesn't seem right.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened with this statue other than needing to redo the Kenshin portraits, which I can't imagine would've taken 15.5 months. At least the new portraits look like a massive improvement over the originals so hopefully this will be worth the wait.

Their other statues that went up for pre-order much later than Kenshin vs Shishio were already in the production phase for a while now, so I don't think it's COVID related, at least not fully. It's possible that the Kenshin portraits really gave them a lot of trouble since a different sculptor (the one who sculpted the Claymore statue) actually had to take over the process of resculpting the portraits. Maybe the original sculptor just couldn't get them right for some reason, leading to the massive delay.

I think it's more of a rights issue. Every official Kenshin statue (the 1.... lol) seem to have delays.
