The live-action film is not bad either.

Car50n mentioned this title to me. It's not available in the US yet but they have a popular anime show in Japan that is doing so well that they made a live action series and movies about. I can't wait for these to be release here so I can check it out. Another good one is supposed to be Blood + which is a series based on the great short film, Blood: The Last Vampire.

i think i caught a bit of that new Blood tv series the other night on Adult Swim. it seemed way different than the movie. Saya wasn't as dark and foreboding. she's supposed to be the last of the originals!

I was in an anime shop yesterday & overheard some guys talking about this. There seems to be a buzz out there.

I'll need to check it out when it becomes available.

I've read the complete Death Note manga and only caught a couple of episodes of the anime. I think it's a great show, but I prefer the manga over the anime.

watching the anime now. it's an intense drama, with a supernatural twist. i've spoken to manga readers, and been told that the anime is almost identical in all aspects. either one is a good bet, but the manga is much further along, if you dont have the patience for weekly episodes.(33 eps. currently aired)

It has been airing for a couple or three months... it is up to episode #11 (this Saturday). Excellent show!
