By re-issue are you referring to a bootleg? Because if this one does see a reproduction it's SRP won't be any less then what it originally was offered at.

I believe he means a 2nd edition which Koto has been doing a lot of lately with their older Bishoujos... 2nd editions can sometimes cause the value of the 1st editions to drop in price on eBay...

By waiting people can definitely get it cheaper even if it's the first edition. Just wait for saturation and many will be 15-35% cheaper just like most new releases for any collectibles. Unless you have money to burn then be the first to own it at full price. The reissues do bring sold out figures back to less than retail as we've seen. So get it, but why rush? Get the discount they all add it if you're buying a lot of these.

To state the obvious MSRP means squat when the supply is larger than the demand, but there's more to it behind that. In the case of Koto, it's the perception people already have about the company, that they will do 2nd and 3rd editions of popular lines. This of course affects retail sales with the unwillingness to preorder, and the secondary market. I don't think their marketing is even a problem, it's probably the best among Japanese companies.

If there was no reissues people would be rushing to po these maybe even multiples. The rarity do charge up collecting as we've seen before people saw reissues for these. Now people woke up and know there will be saturation and reissues. So some want to hold off to buy later, while others quit collecting if the prices of these go for less than retail. The fun of collecting disappears for some once they become not very collectible or somewhat in demand. This also makes them hard to sell with most going below retail when they will be remade every time prices goes up in the aftermarket. With that said....yeah..yeah I know there will be those who will tell how everyone should collect for the collection and not value and don't care if they are worthless. The reality is a lot of people want to collect things that will increase in value or when they sell they can at least even out. If not they will quit and move onto to something else that will be more collectible and hold it's value.

Exactly!! As someone said, take the collectability away, and they are just toys. IMO All these re-issues are a slap in the face to people who have supported Koto from the beginning. These re-issues are a lazy cash grab. $150 for plastic is a lot of money. If there is demand, at least you get your money back so you don't mind spending it.
