I wish we could get an idea of the prices of these pieces. I'm under no illusions that they'll be somehow "affordable"....but with the recent price hikes, and the pricing strategies of the (so called) premium statue companies, it would be interesting to see how far off we are with our mass produced products vs these one of a kind, works of art.
Prices are often ' on request ", but I'll give prices when those are available.

FOR REAL ?

SAM JINKS
is renowned for his uncannily lifelike sculptures alluding to the transitory nature of life. With no formal art training, Jinks began making sculptural works out of silicone and latex as a teenager, perfecting the process while working in the film industry before he spent a number of years working as a studio assistant for Patricia Piccinini. The Deposition (2017), in which a naked man crouches at his mother's feet, is an example of the biblical imagery that frequently appears in his work. Jinks models his figures in clay before casting them and coating them in silicone. They are given their eerie humanity by being colored in flesh tones, tufted with real human hair, and dressed in clothes often made by Jinks' mother.

RENAISSANCE 2.0

GERARD MAS

A part of his work evokes Florentine portraits of the 15th century. His craft skills applied with a humor that can only be contemporary ( chewing gum, lollypop, phone etc ). Gerard Mas reminds us that having talent and skills doesn't mean you have to take yourself too seriously.
The work of Gerard Mas is characterized by a formal preciosity and perfection in the execution of the project on alabaster, marble or resin for mini-series, where the colors and realistic forms make us discover in classical characters some surprisingly anachronistic attitudes.

THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

NIKICHI (Akihiko Yoshida)

Japanese wood carving artist Akihiko Yoshida, who identifies himself as Nikichi on Instagram and other social media platforms, is a master at carving oh-so-cute animals. His touch is so delicate that his wood creations appear like fluffy soft toys!

For the past nine years, Nikichi has developed his unique wood carving technique and is always on the lookout for new and original ideas. His subjects generally revolve around animals and he portrays them in all their moods and expressions. He endeavors to create a mythical world through his creations, catering to the instincts and tastes of his wild animals.

GULLIVERSE

TOMOAKI SUZUKI

The small sculptures of Japanese artist Tomoaki Suzuki (born 1972) reinvent the tradition of Japanese wood sculpture. Inspired by his life in London, where he has been living since 1999, Suzuki creates meticulously detailed portraits of various urban youth on a 1/3 scale. These sculptures evoke contemporary lifestyles and clothing styles while updating centuries-old Oriental traditions. Tomoaki Suzuki takes an anthropological look at urban codes, questioning through his work their impact on our lives as well as their ephemeral side.

INFEMINITY

BRIAN BOOTH CRAIG
(b. 1968; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is a contemporary American representational sculptor. Sculpting from life and imagination, Brian?s work translates traditional techniques into depictions of contemporary human presence, capturing moments of individual self-assertion. Through ambiguous actions, surprising talismans, and subtle gestures, Brian endeavors to reveal the subjectivity of narrative perspective.

CANDYGIRL CANDYGIRL CANDYGIRL CANDYGIRL CANDYGIRL

WOOOP !

MATTHIAS VERGINER

His statues are made of wood, and he manages to "capture" the softness of the skin. These pretty plump characters are aesthetic, harmonious, incarnate, funny, simply beautiful.
Matthias Verginer seems to send us an ethical message, referring us to our animality, to our place on this Earth, to the interactions between species. For this, he mixes bodies with animals. The round body then appears naked, in all simplicity, just as if life had just begun.

It is both poetic and incredibly modern.

BRONZE IS ALIVE

ANDY WRIGHT ( 1 )

"Being a sculptor I have a fascination with bodies and how they move. It goes with the territory. And the more you learn about them, the more they intrigue as you keep learning about them. I'm also interested in the beauty of design and application. To create graceful and unusual figurative bronze sculpture. And it's this combination of concepts that I will be exploring in the future. Figures that slip from reality into myth and dreams. That seems somewhat unearthly, yet reality-based."
