I wonder how they achieved the gold finish for the movie C-3PO
I doubt it is a secret. Why can't Sideshow copy the same process?

Too difficult and more importantly, expensive to achieve on a mass produced statue. If money were no object, they'd be able to deliver no doubt. Just easier to cheap out on the paint and say, near enough

Chroming has been around for years.
If they had all the parts, they could be chromed in no time.
Dull gold takes me back to the plastic C-3PO toy i own (and somehow lost?) years ago.
The original carded mini figure of C-3PO was shiny chrome gold. Kenner managed it on a mass scale.

Exactly, they could do it if they wanted. I'm seeing more and more companies cheap out on the paint though, such as with mandalorian, captain phasma and anything that requires chrome
