Creating a new base for Sideshow 1:2 Iron Man Mk III

Hi masters! I'm hoping there are some pros in here with experience working with electrics, perhaps even possibly with the Mk III itself, as I have an idea for a project.

I'd like to create a replica base for the Mk III 1:2 scale maquette, it's the one thing I think could be elevated on the piece. The idea is that it is a circular (or hexagonal) nightstand base that illuminates the statue from beneath, so an entire acrylic panel with lights underneath.

While this is a challenge in itself, as it still needs to support the statue and it's current pegs, it would also need to incorporate the original lighting and switch to allow the reactor/eyes to light up also. One of the feet has a connector that allows this to happen, but wondering how to handle this in the new base?

Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated!
