We Stand On Guard? I thought it was really good. Brian Vaughan sets up a politically charged, dystopian future, set some 100 years from now, in which Canada drags itself up from the wreckage of a US led invasion & destruction. It goes from set-up to survivor mode within a few pages & we're left with a very cool post-holocaust tale set in the Canadian' wilderness. Steve Skroce' art is very detailed & reminds me of Geoff Darrow's art back in his Frank Miller days.
So far, female heroine & some refreshing projections on Canadian anti-American sentiment with some cool predict-tech tossed around. I can't wait for ish 2 out on Aug. 5th.
