I see your point and actually agree with it, but for the most part, sports tend to be the most popular or get the most recognition when they are under one name. NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL, NASCAR, UFC. It would be great to have some genuine competition for the UFC, but give any fighter a chance to fight for the UFC, and they will more often than not jump at it. There are great fighters outside of the UFC, but in my opinion the top fighters belong to the UFC. Even the WEC, which the UFC owns, is now being slowly rolled into the UFC. There will always be smaller organizations, but I really don't see one on the level of the UFC coming in to challenge them, at least not domestically. Maybe internationally something along the lines of Pride will come along again, but who knows, it's a different time economically in the rest of the world as well.
