All AMC Theatres Closing Temporarily

Posted on their Facebook

"Effective today, all 630 AMC locations in the country will close for at least six to 12 weeks, in compliance with local, state and federal directives, and as a precaution to help ensure the health and safety of our guests and theatre staff. AMC Stubs A-List memberships will be paused automatically during the time AMC Theatres are closed. For home entertainment, please consider #AMCTheatresOnDemand, featuring over 3,500 movie titles. We will continue to monitor this situation very closely and look forward to the day we can again delight moviegoers nationwide by reopening AMC movie theatres."

Looks like the studios are going to start releasing movies early for digital download, Birds of Prey will be available next week... Dreamworks is releasing one of their movies both in the theaters and digital download at the same time.

Yep, they announced (Universal I believe) that both The Invisible Man and The Hunt will be available too. I think next week.

If you can stay 6 feet from one another and nobody is sick, I don't think the government will close you. There are people putting siding up on the street across from us. We have painted still scheduled to come in the middle of April.

Now whether your shop elects to stay open could be different. Customers may be an issue. But for everybody, I hope you keep working.

I normally don’t enjoy even being in a movie theater, but having them all close feels very bad. Human nature I guess is to want what we can’t have.

Alamo is closed too which really bums me out as they were going to show John Carpenter's The Thing next week. I really wanted to see that in a theater again.
