Lawless 6/10. Prohibition era gangster movie with some pretty violent scenes.

That's what I'd give it too. So much talent for such a mediocre movie.

I think the fact that Shia was the central character did not help. It's pretty obvious now he is at best a supporting actor not a lead.

Yeah I was ultimately disappointed in Lawless too given the talent involved. Scored it a 5.5/10 myself. The narrative meandered a bit too much for my liking and lacked punch. I found the sound mix to be horribly annoying too. The dialog was so difficult to hear at times.

Absolutely agree; a favorite movie of mine.
Pacific Rim 8/10; some wank dialogue, but otherwise very entertaining. Loved the initial fight and the flashback sequence of Mako's (Rinko's) was awesome.
Fun mid-credits scene, too.

Pacific Rim - 7.5/10
Just pure fun. I was totally entertained from beginning to end. As this was a lot of style over substance, expectedly and rightly so, i can't score it too much higher. Totally recommend it though as a super fun night out at the cinema.

Byzantium (2012) - Residents of a coastal town learn, with deathly consequences, the secret shared by the two mysterious women who have sought shelter at a local resort.
Pretty good and unique for a vampire film. 7/10

Pacific Rim 6.5/10
Fun action. Lackluster acting, weak dialogue, cliché characters and series plot holes and logic issues.
I didn't like how the fighting was pretty much up close with shakey cam and quick cut like a Hong Kong action flick. It was hard to see what was going on. Need some more long shots of the action. All the up close stuff was probably done to give a feel of large scale. But I didn't care for it.
