I showed this to 3 of my buddies. 2 said it was cheesy, over-done. my other friend could bnot believe his eyes.

If films are given points for blood & guts, this movie is Wilt Chamberlain.

I'm sure you are well aware of the Horror Movie Sales Best Buy does a week or 2 before halloween every year.

You can pick up a ton of great titles arounf $5-10

The Devil and Daniel Webster is a 1945 classic that until very recently, was not available on DVD. Walter Huston plays the Devil in this film and, believe me, Al Pacino's portrayal of Satan falls behind.
The story is one we're all pretty familiar with. Man sells soul..Devil comes to collect....Hi-jinks ensue. Only this telling is amazing. American Patriot, Daniel Webster defends to seller in a courtroom of the damned. In a scene that's been parodied countless times, a jury of hell's most famous residents decide the fate of a simple farmer in an old New England Barn in deep Autumn. Pumpkins glow by lamplight as Mr. Scratch and Mr. Webster go toe to toe. This movie is excellent. Rent it for October.

Now, this is a good Devil.
I have never seen this in its entirety. I will be sure to check it out

T - I'm positive you'll really enjoy this one. I purchased it last year and am planning a gathering around it. It's awesome. Not a lot of scares but some incredibly surreal, spooky scenes.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned but Prince of Darkness was a pretty creepy film.

Speaking of Rob Zombie, I finally watched his Halloween and actually, kinda liked it. The back story component worked. I don't care for his other horror attempts.

Did hear that a Jeepers Creepers 3 is coming ... with a lot more history of the Demon. Can't wait for that one.

Finally - They're remaking the very 1st movie mentioned on this thread. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is being filmed now with Katie Holmes and Guy Pierce. Guillermo del Toro somehow involved. He's stated that he loves the original. 2011 release.
