Grease (1978)

I watched the 4K disc on a projector. One of my top five films, it looked and sounded fantastic. 10/10

It was a Glass Onion night tonight (2nd Knives Out film) and it was fun. Great cast and entertaining all the way through with lots of twists. 8/10

The Pale Blue Eye. 8/10

This gets extra credit for being a good movie in a wasteland of garbage but I love period pieces. Edgar Allan Poe being a character in it and Christian Bale helped as well. It was a great movie to look at without the tired use of cgi and will probably be popular with my goth students.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
7.2/10

A silly, daft, funny film.
Nicolas Cage is the driving force that delivers what is required to make such a story work.
Pedro Pascal is equally as good. The life size less than perfect statue had me in stitches.

M3GAN - 7/10 It was a fun comedy-horror. I'm hopeful they do release the original R-rated version.

In my opinion as well. I didn't think so during my first screening--maybe I was expecting something different. However, after seeing it three times, I find it to be stellar. What a beautiful score too. And the prominent New Year's Eve scene makes it a good movie to watch between the holidays.

The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021) - A quirky, dysfunctional family's road trip is upended when they find themselves in the middle of the robot apocalypse and suddenly become humanity's unlikeliest last hope.

This was a lot of fun and I found the animation to be unexpectedly innovative. No wonder it got an Oscar nomination last year. 8/10

Batman finally does some detective work and Edgar Allen Poe is in it.
