Need a good PS2 game

I haven't played my PS2 for a good bit, and was looking for a good game to pick up and play.
I'm kind of out of the loop on console games, been playing PC games too much.
I'm burnt out on the guitar hero games, and I'm not really into shooter type games, anyone got any recommendations?
So far only game I'm leaning toward is God of War a friend said they were good and they look cool, not sure whether to get the 1st or 2nd of those tho.
Anyway any recommendations would be appreciated.

Ok if you own a PS2 and have never played any God of War game that's just plain wrong. It's like having jar full of cookies but no milk.

I've owned them both for years now. If you don't have them, leave your house, go steal them, find the, buy them both and play them.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver games are a blast. Game play is easy but the most important thing of all is the story. Need to start with the first ones.

If you want a old school click and point computer type game. Discworld is one funny series. Eric Idle is the voice and it has that Monty Python humor to it. Just very hard to find #1 and 2 these days.

Also if you never had a chance to play Resident Evil 4, go buy it right now!!!

Some good recommendations given already. Ico, although older, is also a good game. If you havent played Resi 4 you either hang yourself or go out and buy it NOW...and buy a gamecube while your at it because this is a game you will want to play in it's full glory (wich isnt the case on the PS2) - (then again, your a little late for the full glory thing because that was 2 years ago)

If you want RE4 in full glory get the wii version.

Killzone is a fav PS2 title along with Resi 4

Metal Gear Solid 3 or Resident Evil 4 would be a good choice.

Resi 4 isnt a wii game (meaning it wasnt made for the wii controls) they just adjusted it control wise to make an extra few $$. I'm not saying it's no good but for me personaly Resi 4 on gamecube is how it's supposed to be
