making insurance USPS claim

I sold a statue and the buyer is claiming it was damaged in shipping which I don't believe but it had insurance by USPS.
So who files him or me and what happens to the statue?
And where does paypal sit in this?

He has to be the one making the claim...he has to bring everything including the box it came in, fill out paperwork and have the authorized personal at the post office look at it...He will need some info from you for paperwork...Paypal could give a sh!t about insurance...

boycott usps, they are just holding on by a thread, and screwing over customers in the process.

i had a favorable resolution from a usps claim (not ups). process with usps took a while, but the person that recieved the package has to file the paper work including taking several pictures of the damaged item and the packaging - save all of the boxes etc until you get resolution. then if you get a favorable resolution the shipper receives the insurance money and the shipper pays out the buyer.

luckily i was working with an honest seller. so at the end of the day while i received a cracked statue, it ended up being a free cracked statue as i received the insurance proceeds. a painful process but a good resolution.

I have been screwed over my USPS insurance a few times years ago bought some art from a collector 5k worth the package went missing it was insured the usps refused to pay on the claim because there was no proof of value because it was art.. WTF my receipt for payment should have been enough. Luckily my collectors insurance covered it ... with that said you should always insure any packages over 100 just in case...
